Missing Malaysian 777

The plot thickens. Apparently, military radar shows it turning back to Malaysia - they're extending the search to the Malaysian mainland and the sea to the west of Malaysia. First two people were travelling with stolen passports, and now it could be four. No "Pan" or "Mayday", so whatever happened was catastrophic, or the crew didn't realise as per the Air France flight from Brazil.

Intriguing isn't it. I feel sorry for those who have lost loved ones etc.

Apparently the 2 tickets were bought via China Southern, a code share with Malaysia Air. We flew on 4 different Chinese airlines last year and they were as strict as any other airline we have used. It was also stated that the Malay authorities didn't report it missing for 4 hrs.

4 hours? That seems an awfully long time.
I too feel very sorry for those involved in this tragedy.

starting to look a bit strange, suddenly disappears off radar, fairly accurate fix but no sign of any wreckage over the wide area surrounding the last known position. Already theories that it may have been hijacked or one of the crew took it over and either landed it somewhere or ditched it far from the presumed location (I'm beginning to suspect the latter) - thoughts anyone?

It is all very mysterious. Any one have any idea what the depth of water is in that area?

There are reports that the oil slick is not from that a/c.

getting more and more puzzling - has it been stolen for some reason maybe and is sitting on a very remote airfield or even just (crash) landed on open land somewhere (it's range with the fuel on board would have been about 2000 miles).

Maybe a bit of piracy for a very precious cargo on board or something. I just get the feeling that the authorities are holding back some important information for some reason. it's only this morning that they have confirmed that it was tracked WEST of Malaysia and heading west - there's an awful lot of ocean to search, and quite a few islands too.

A flaperon has been washed up on the island of Reunion near Madagascar.

Part numbers appear to identify it as from a 777 - MH370 is the only missing 777 that the authorises are aware but as yet it has not been confirmed that is a piece from from MH370.

Also a suitcase has been found in the same area as the flaperon but again no confirmation of where it has come from.
