I just noticed on the Connie Flyers website
that there are No Member Flights scheduled
between July 1st and August 16th.

This is very unusual :-?

One has to wonder where she's going to be
and what she will be doing :D

Has anyone heard/seen anything lately???????

That's a L-O-N-G stretch of time, though.......

I wonder if she might be going on holiday
on behalf of Breitling in the UK and elsewhere.....

Major Major Service this winter, so the
aircraft is in top shape for whatever might
be required.....

It will be fun to see what happens :D

No PAX flights for you guys, though :((

Please keep your eyes peeled, okay?????????

I will, too......

Breitling Super Constellation is (finally)
confirmed as a Static Display Aircraft at
Farnborough......

http://www.farnborough.com/aircraft/public-static-display-aircraft

Seeing as she's currently undergoing an
engine swap and lots of PAX flights have
been cancelled, I hope she will still make
it over your way for the show....

Additionally, I just can't see her coming all
that way without doing at least ONE display,
but it's not listed as a flying presenter.....

YET :D

The other thing that occurs to me is that
IF she comes all that way, and she DOES
display at Farnborough, why would they
waste the trip and ONLY show up there?

Given the dates and not having to be
back to CH until August 8th, where else
might she be likely to pop up?

Bear in mind that Breitling UK has had to
spring for a lot of this out of their own
promotional budget........

Sad News, I'm Afraid...............

Contrary to our first assumptions specific investigations have revealed that the engine No 2 suffered significant damage after only few hours of running. It must be replaced due to two damaged rods. This leads to another delay of our flight program. The committee of the SCFA decided on June 20, 2012 to order an overhauled replacement engine from Anderson Aeromotive Inc., a US company specialized on airplane piston engines. It will be prepared in the US and then sent to Lahr for mounting – our Connie is currently positioned there.
Based on the preparation, delivery and mounting time we expect to start to fly in August. In order to catch up with some of the cancelled flights we plan to extend our flight season into October.

Just read that the Breitling Super Connie
will be at Le Bourget from 17 thru 23 June,
so MAYBE she might continue northwards
after that visit to Frog Heaven....

Also, after TWO trips way out to Montana,
their lame engine is no longer lame and
is being re-installed :ymapplause:

One would think they'd have at least ONE
spare, eh?

Will keep you all posted......
