Concorde G-BOAF Survey

Postby Checkflaps » Sat Jan 23, 2010 9:12 am

Hi all

Had an e-mail letter sent to me the other day with regard to the future home of 'Foxy' on the airfield at Filton. I just thought that they might as well have the opinion of lots of aviation fans as to what should go in the hangar (as and wen they ever get around to building it ~x( ). If it was me, I would make them build a hangar that was about 3 times the size it needed to be and then you could get more aircraft in as the 'collection' grew - maybe even another 'delta' :D

Here's the message

You are probably aware that Concorde at Filton is only a temporary home for Concorde 216, and that the proceeds of the current exhibition are ring-fenced for a major aviation heritage centre where Concorde can be under cover as the centre-piece of displays and exhibits that detail the story of the region's long-standing role in the world of aerospace.

The Concorde Trust, an independent organisation, was registered in June 2007 to deliver the project, i.e. to raise the remainder of the funds and to build the new aviation heritage centre. The objects of the charity are: FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC, TO BUILD, ESTABLISH, MAINTAIN AND OPERATE A MUSEUM SPECIALISING IN THE PUBLIC DISPLAY, RESTORATION AND CONSERVATION OF AIRCRAFT, MISSILES, ROCKETS, SATELLITES, OTHER FLYING AERIAL OR SPACE DEVICES OR MACHINES AND THE COMPONENT PARTS OF THEM AND DRAWINGS AND ARCHIVES AND OTHER PRODUCTS OF, OR RELATING TO THE AIRCRAFT AND AEROSPACE INDUSTRIES.

In January 2010, the centenary year of aviation innovation at Filton, The Concorde Trust are undertaking a short online survey to establish what people want the new aviation heritage centre to contain and what visitors want to do when they have all day to spend in Concorde's new home.

We need your help: we would really appreciate it if you could please spare just a few minutes to fill in the survey and sieze your chance to say what will make the new aviation heritage centre a really great place to visit.

If the URL following does not hotlink, just "copy" the text and "paste" it into your browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari):

http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/PRH7BZ2
(last 7 digits are P for Papa, R for Romeo, H for Hotel, number 7, B for Bravo, Z for Zulu, number 2)

It really is a very straightforward survey and is your chance to make your views known.

With best wishes for 2010
