All I read is that the repat has been moved back to 7pm & the said poster thinking out loud posted 'I wonder if that means she going to fly in the morning'!!

Nothing about anyone kicking up a din or is there something elsewhere?

Thank MR good to see

Thanks again MR :ymapplause: .

Just to ask from a clueless point of view :ymblushing: ..............What was the reason for her roll out today? I presume the engine covers didn't come off?

Here's a quote from oberons update on t'other side
We were hoping to get the aircraft across to the running pan this afternoon, but unfortunately, in between us and it, there is an unserviceable aircraft that cannot be moved and we cannot get around it without hitting it, (which is a bad thing) so we have to wait until it is out of the way before we can move on to the next phase.

Could this explain why the rumours suggest a later appearance tomorrow?

If they'd rung around we'd have come down and dragged out of the way.

In my days in the RAF it mean't repatriation flight home of troops etc. I'm guessing it still means that.

Looks like EVERYONE is working their socks off outside the hanger now.
Getting a vulcan shaped suntan line ;)
Found on the RAF Lyneham website a warning of increased noise.
Vulcan Engine Runs
There is a planned noise increase at RAF Lyneham, starting Fri 25 June 2010 until Fri 2 July 2010.

The Vulcan aircraft, that has been housed at RAF Lyneham during the winter months for maintenance, is now due to fly again for the summer season. Before any Vulcan flights can take place the aircraft is subject to Engine Test Runs to ensure complete serviceability.

Please be advised that the Engine Test Runs are very noisy and will only be undertaken during normal working hours. Specific time scales during each day cannot be confirmed.

Not very helpful but cool to think that the RAF still considers a few vulcan engine runs as a major noise.

For those that are interested, I learnt a new fact about the vulcan...
A F1 starting grid creates 4 times less noise than a single Vulcan engine at take off thrust.

Four WHOPPING GREAT BIG OLYMPII will be something of a wake up call to sleepy propeller driven Lyneham!
