I've just collected junes edition of Photoplus (canon) from WHSmiths and hopefully I'll be done by wednesday in time for July's issue. Seems a good read so far.

My only problem so far is I don't have Photoshop Elements or CS, so some of this is wasted on me............For now :ymdevil:

I use Paint Shop Pro 9, darn sight cheaper than CS3 and unless you are wishing to sell your photographs and have instantly become David Bailey overnight, save the money for more beer ;)

Just to add, I always shoot in JPEG and for airshows I pretty much leave the camera on TV mode all day especially if it's a busy one with not much time to fumble through settings. Bright weather no more than 100-200 ISO, a shutter speed of around 320 is good for props and around 1,000 for fast jets :D

I have PSP8 and Corel paint shop

I got Digital Photo Professional with my 450D which I installed to have a play with a few RAW images I took the other day - quite impressed with it really - it'll also process jpgs

All that corrective stuff is fine for those that either need it or have the time to use it! :p

I use PSP to crop the images, resize for publishing and put on a small frame if I feel like it, it's also handing for removing any dust spots which happens all the time on my Canon Vacuum Cleaner. I don't correct or edit my photo's unless I really want to keep them but they turned out a bit naff. I personally like looking at what I took, not "here's what you could've took"... if that makes sense!

Not sure why you suffer with dust so much, I change lenses all the time and ALWAYS make sure that the camera is turned off! This allows the inbuilt cleaning to take place as you turn it off and again when you turn it back on again after removing a lense and refitting the other one! It's a simple procedure to teach yourself!

Other than the obvious (above :p ) what are the best things to use for dust removal from the lens and cleaners etc?

I think you will find that the 30D does not have automatic cleaning. I know how to clean the sensor myself, it's just a pain in the butt as the camera is a real dust bug. Nothing to do with changing lenses as my 75-300 lives on the body, it's just a camera that sucks up dust, a lot of other owners have mentioned this on UKAR so I know for a fact it's an issue with that model.

Oh and yes I always make sure the camera is OFF before I change lenses, I got confused about what forum I was on for a moment there 8-|

Nope, they're well in proportion with my size ;)

On a more miserable note................................I've just had a call from Barclays, whom I start working for on the 5th July...........................to be told I failed pre-employment screening checks!. Basically I failed a credit check, just like the one you have for applying for a loan. Now I'm back to bloody square 1 again, all thanks to my bitch of an ex-missus who nearly bankrupted me ten years ago!

Now this thread should be called 1 step forward...........10 back!

Time for a beer X(

SORRY to hear that Mate!

Can you challenge that finding or are you allowed to offer an explanation?

Good luck
