Re: Identify the Aircraft

Just so you know, The Stinson 6000 was a very
TOUGH aircraft! Only a handful or so made, so
it's a miracle there's even one left, let alone one
still flying! A "finer" aircraft than the Ford Tri-motor.

When the founder of the company died in a crash,
it wound up in the hands of E.L.Cord who also made
Auburn/Cord/Duesenberg automobiles and Lycoming
engines. Nice pedigree, I'd say....

Just gotta say, while we're waiting, what an
absolutely Pure Form that is! Especially in
DC-2 stage.....

That picture ought to be in the dictionary right
next to the definition of "aeroplane/airplane".

It does fit the bill that's for sure TWA made all the right choices when they selected the DC-2 it is a real classic.

Ok so it has a pusher prop, low wing. appears to be metal construction, Tricycle undercarriage, nose wheel steering, and single seat,

Black and white photo so assume its reasonably old ?

I assume its British registered but is it a British design ?

No blade shadow on the floor ( I wondered about that but the cockpit is large and the gyro mast would need to righ behind it.

hurrah! i seem to have you all stumped! \:D/

it certainly is (was?) on the British register, and i suspect designed and built in Britain too, although i can't be 100% sure.

yes, it's a prop driven pusher

as for being 'old' Mackrick - well i don't think so, but Tom.com might! =))
