558 Latest - update

Postby Mayfly » Thu Feb 19, 2009 8:51 am

So info isn't lost amongst the old thread I thought this deserved a thread of its own.......

It is a response from Dr Bob to questions asked of him by a UKAR moderator last Tuesday at the 'Turn & Burn'.

Thanks Pam

OF NOTE IS;

Para 9

Dr Bob says;

"I do know that the criticism is based on an awful lot of ignorance and an awful lot of misinformation so I don't really take much notice of it. I know what we've done, I know the team, I know their strengths. We've achieved a unique success in flying the Vulcan. Nobody else worldwide has done this and it is truly a proud thing for me and the team.

In that case Dr. Bob alay the IGNORANCE by SPEAKING to YOUR PUBLIC!!!!!! Tell them the TRUTH and CONVERSE with them!!!!!

Not having the privilege of being within the "inner-circle" as far as the mighty XH558 is concerned. One would fancy to put a question to you all if I may.

Is Dr Robert Pleming really as disconnected to his empire as I am lead to believe through one's extensive reading?

I believe Dr Phleming and several others who upset people are all scheduled to be at the shooting day next Saturday. There may be some tickets left!!!!
Can't really say anymore than that, but you all know what I am thinking. ;)

it's alright DD - we've already discussed Pleming-target-practice :D

even better is that some even took us seriously and branded us 558-haters! \:D/ =))

perhapes after all the hard work over the last few years and the fact that all involved with the project are about to lose there jobs maybe that is why they have lost their sense of humour

well with the greatest of respect Medic One, it doesn't take long to look around in here and 'get' the level of general humour - add to that the more-than-obvious support shown for 558, by the majority - it doesn't take a genius to figure out that none of us find job-losses amusing in the least

why not look here and decide for yourself! ;)

oh, welcome by the way! :D

you beat me to it SM well said :D

it is also worthy to note that

a, the posts were made before anyone received any redundancy notices
b, the post on TVOC forum accusing us on here of ridiculing the fund raising efforts has been deleted

I missed this as my boy is going to USA tomorrow. When I siad "lost their sense of humour", I was referring to the people who took exception to the thread that SM has pointed out and haven't posted on this forum since. I was not in any way referring to the clankies and sparks who work their wotsits off for 558. These guys we have the utmost respect for (even if they ride bikes :p :D ), and I, for one, have no issue with the members of the TVOC forum. I have a problem with the way it has been run in the past, and I think "the management" have missed multiple opportunities for raising money. I also disagree with the way they have treated their "people assets" in the past to the extent of being myopic. I'm sorry, Medic one, but please don't cast aspertions before you have read all the posts.
If you think that we find job losses amusing, well I'm sorry, but you really are barking up the wrong tree.
If you stick around maybe you will catch the sense of humour on here and then you can criticise.
Welcome, by the way. :D

Medic One, Aide mate welcome to the site. Take a look around mate, this is a good site, with no really vindictive stuff. :) Most of us seem to have migated here to avoid that crap and have a laugh and some sensible ( well almost) argument, enjoy ;)
