Re: Identify the Aircraft

OKAY!!!!!

Not a PAX aircraft but CAN carry passengers.

NOT Murkin.

Not a BIZ aircraft.

EVIDENTLY not a spy aircraft.

Certainly looks to be jet powered.

Must be primarily cargo/paratrooper hauler.

Anyone? I'm coming up dry as a bone here!!!!!!

SM: Military or Civilian or Both???????

NORTH American?????

So, Canadian, then.....

We Murkins are really good at ignoring
the Canadians.....

All I can think is DeHavilland Otter, but that's
a jet aircraft in your pic....

Bombardier of some kind? Canadair?

Hell, I dunno, SM.....

Clues req'd.

STARVING to death.

SM:

Only Canadair/Bombardier a/c I can find that fit
the bill are passenger jets. There's a water bomber,
but it doesn't have the correct profile. I shall look
further....

Danf.

EDIT:

Raytheon Sentinel R.1

Based on Bombardier Global Express/Global 5000

AND flown by ye olde RAF, as well...

Personally, having scrawled through lots of pics, I have now narrowed it down to two CANIDAIR candidates;

The CC144C or The CL600 Challenger

Is that any closer Sadistic Man? ;)

I'm going to have to give this to Ducati Boy - very close before with his "does it live at Waddo?" question, but now has it's precise make and model ;)

it is this exact aircraft...

Image

the Canadair CL-600-2B19 Regional Jet CRJ-200LR

yes, i know Canadair are now Bombardier and that a lot of of the ones mentioned before are based on the same design - but it's not a biz jet, nor is it military! the shadow makes the fuselage look much shorter, but the CRJ-200 has a longer fuselage :ymdevil:

over to you oh Two-Wheeled One :D

SM. Wow thanks mate last time I won an aircraft recognition thingey, I was a Leading Cadet in the ATC about 1961 :D Amazing how the shadow changed enough of the characteristics to confuse us. :)

I will have to pass on giving a challenge at the moment as I can't figure out how to post a picture. ~x(

i thought that was a compliment - 'common' leckies aren't 'engineers' in my book - electrical engineering is a long way from putting a battery in a smoke alarm =))
