A few people have asked me about the poor old girl, so, I had a peek in today

She's being cleaned for an upcoming event, looks a lot better for it too!

I was going to say she looks a damned sight better on the inside than on the outside...

Looks a bit different from last time I went on board. Many, many years ago, when she hadn't been there all that long, I arranged a trip for my Scout group to see '558 in the hangar, in a very dismantled state. But whoever had the keys for the hanger didn't turn up, so Geoffrey Poole took us down to have a look on board the 747. At that time, the interior was intact, with the exception of the cockpit instruments. I can't remember weather or not she still had engines though.

I've always thought it's a shame she can't be moved up nearer the rest of the CWJs, even if only for the open days. Ok, I know she doesn't fit in with the theme, but where else can you walk under a 747?

Hey Gaz, I was wondering what the long term plans are for her?
I went & looked beneath her a the last CWJ day & saw that one of the rear undercarriage legs was at rightangles to the rest of the ship. Am I right in thinking that she's been moved since the first CWJ day of 2011 as it seemed a bit closer this time to the rest of the collection?

I thought she looked closer too, but I wasn't sure if it was my memory playing tricks on me.

Depends if you like Kasabian! I thought it was brilliant, if a little short.

Anyway, that wasn't the event I was talking about! :-P
