RIP Barry Masefield

Very sad to report that Barry Masefield passed away today. A Black Buck veteran AEO and a great friend of XM655, Barry will be greatly missed.
Sincere condolences to all his friends and family at this sad time.

One Olympus 301 has twice the power of a complete F1 starting grid.
XM655 has four of them, all serviceable.

So sad to hear this :( I think I only met him (to speak to him) once, but a character never forgotten. Rest in peace Barry.

Only met Mr Masefield at Wellesbourne in 2012. I was too shy to speak to him. Got Mr Masefield's signature on a few items I bought from XH558.

It was Barry's funeral today. It brought a tear to my eye when I saw his flying helmet on top of his coffin.

An appropriate "see-off" for Barry. The crematorium was packed, with standing room only at the back. Everyone you might expect including many who had come considerable distances.

A wonderful tribute to a wonderful man.
