Bones coming to Mildenhall

Postby Nickolas » Thu Sep 03, 2009 11:10 pm

There is a thread on UKAR stating there will be a visit by some B1-B Lancers in early-mid Sept...............That'll be round about now then.

Heard one helluva racket today, sounded promising but was a Tornado (don't see many of those at Mildenhall).

Not sure if they are in the country, I was planning to return home via Mildenhall if they are, can anyone confirm whether they are here yet?

If they are they are well hidden mate.
I have heard nor seen nothing sorry.
I drive passed the base at around 5 every morning and work very close by.
I would be surprised if I missed them but not impossible I guess.

Mags. Get yer bum down here and take some pics :p if/when they do arrive ;)
I will take my camera to work but by the time I get to the end of the runway they would be a dot lol :D

Edited to add a picture of a Bone in flight for the lovely Mags ;)

According to Fighter control there are two rumours doing the rounds.

The main one, and the one that I think most possible is that they have cancelled due to operational committments.

The other was that they were due the 28th.

Both are just rumours though :D

out of all the forums FC is the 'spotters' forum - if it's on there I would believe it above any other rumours

How can you apologise for the BOMB, without weapons we have no need for weapon carrying aeroplanes! :-o
