Sorties this morning were trying to copy MR's pictures of strange landing strips (viewtopic.php?f=11&t=316)

I could not for the life of me land properly ..... ended up always overshooting the runway, breaking my prop and sliding back down the mountain

Unfortunately this was in the dark, also my engine blew before I got there Still managed to glide in for a landing though

A really good day today guys thanks to SM & Wedgy, & Prometheus joined us later, so many good photos to choose from not sure which to post...

In my defence your honour it was my first carrier deck landing........... & for some reason I did what Prometheus did a couple of months ago in his DC3 my a/c just flipped for no reason, but it looks impressive

& why does my a/c show red in my pics & yellow in yours?????????????

anyway - what a day for formation flying! with Wedgy's new joystick and our discovery of the joys of the Piper Cub, Mayfly, Wedgy and i did some impressive flying




and then Wedgy and i had a quick go at some formation with our trusty machines














all-in-all probably the best formation flying that the three of us have ever done!

Looks like a fun time was had by all
I didn't stay long as im a poorly b*gger at the moment and had to keep disappearing but I did pop back later with my new Vulcan, yes I took the plunge and treated myself, however I'd have more success flying a flag. Is it just me or is the PSS Vulcan a pig to fly ? I have to constantly trim her to be able to keep her in the air

aha! we did wonder why you seemed to be 6.7nm away for a rather long time!

yeah, the Vulcan is a git - best that I've found it to have the thrust at about 65% max and keep the speed to about 280-300. it never seems to trim perfectly though, always a bit of uppy-downy. it can take a wee while for trim and throttle settings to settle down though.

but hey, it's better than its navigational aids
