Stand to be corrected but I don't think she did at least publicly & I haven't seen any pics of her doing so at Brize tho' must confess to not watching a lot of the early season videos.

She did one this year at Brize if I remember rightly ... seem to remember some firemen struggling with a chute in a fire truck....

Thanks Mackrick.

If I remember correctly - the 'chute' needs to be deployed after 'x' amount of flights/landings. (On a side note.. How much does it cost to have it re-packed... and who does it ?) ;)

Thinking about it did they stream one on the test flight when they arrived at Brize?

MF this year has been a blur when it comes to 558 so I really can't remember all I know is that it was streamed at some point because I helped Sam, Mouse, Ray, Brownie and JJ fit it (Not an easy task).

Definitely streamed at Brize at the end of the test flight on June 12th - I have a photo somewhere!

Believe that was the only stream: there was supposed to be one mid-way through the season based on packed time, but I seem to recall an inspection being undertaken instead to save on the packing cost?

Tried to post it, but IA won't play ball. Resized photos to size I've always used, but it won't accept them X( :( .

Sorry - I tried!

We've only streamed the Chute once this year, and then only because it was specified as part of the post maintenance test flight.

The chute is removed and re-packed every 20 hours or 28 days, which ever comes first.

If the company that repacks the chute gets it in a nice neat bag it is a lot easier for them to repack it than if they get a huge bundle of white stuff.

The chute is also a lot more likely to get damaged if it is streamed.

There is a finite amount of time the Chute can be streamed, I think it's only 30 times.

The chutes we use are all ex- Victor chute which have been adapted for us.

an ignoramus's guess, but there can't be THAT much difference between a Vulcan and Victor 'chute can there?

means of attachment etc would inevitably be different (different aircraft manufacturers) but there was quite a lot of commonality of various parts wasn't there?

Will the one nicked from Brunty's Victor be returned? :p

From memoryits the couplings that are diffrent on the chutes annd a case of removing the Victor one and replacing with a Vulcan one, i think its about £600 to re-pack the chute.

According to sources it was neither! it was taken along with brake parts which are common to both. :D

On a serious note though, thats the kind of thing that puts a blot on relationships with other groups, VTTS/TVOC have pissed off a great many people. Put it this way i don't wear anything Vulcan related when i'm at Brunty on a Sunday. :(
