They're the thermocouples for measuring jet pipe temperature......and as any sooty will tell you they hurt like hell if you put your knee down on one as you're backing out of the jet pipe after doing a visual of the hot end of the engine!

Ahh.. thanks for that explanation. I've never seen them before... and I've learn't something new today

Think it used to be the Loran (Long Range Aids to Navigation) antenna. Might still be an aerial of some sort, but probably just a useful rack now!
