Mushrooming?

Postby Dee » Thu Apr 22, 2010 11:22 am

A tad confused here. Over on other forum it has been posted that the 27th is a good day for mushrooming? Now ive been keeping up with engineering updates and she dont look ready to go flying about just yet? I dont want o organise a trip to brunty if this isnt at all likely to happen, so any ideas anyone please?

It's not 558 they are talking about Dee - there is another big bird - one who 'hunts' due in sometime to Bruntingthorpe - but my understanding is nothing is yet confirmed!!
In memory of a very dear friend - Mike Pearson

Very fond memories of Robbie Gilvary - DTs 1st Vulcan Captain who taught DT all he knew.

Still being fed on s*** and kept in the dark by TVOC Sooty ?? Aint life tough :p
If it wasn't for coded messages from TVOC, modesty forbids to say who, lots of people would not have gone "mushroom picking" around Brunty back in 2008 and seen a really big, early bird in flight B-)

You could use another coded message for 655 outings, "Vulcan Trundling" might be good! =)) =)) =))

What would 558 aircrew training outings to 655 be called?

i bit my lip... but... if sootys comment was refering to being left in the dark, it would be by tvoc management and not the engineers.

i know we are not under the same rules and regulations that 558 its, and that 655MaPS volunteers are also the management so make our own rules and can say what we like when we like.

i for one at 655MaPS am proud that 655 helped 558 keep flying, especially on one of her biggest/most profitable weekends; The weekend when the door jack bracket failed and 655 helped out. and I'm proud that we can help 558 as a group with sooty making tools to help 558 too. Yes, its a two way street and we have had spares from 558 and we always thank them personally for them.

i think i can say this for all of MaPS; We will do our very very best to see 655 trundle around for many many years to come; and do whatever we can to help keep 558 flying too.

it will be great to see Martin and the flight crew for training on the 15th, i hope she (655) can give them to get all they need to prepare them for a successful 2010 season in 558.

That would be 'VTTST' Management Bovril - wouldn't want another thread dedicated to THAT discussion. #:-S

We all know why Mushrooming was originally termed
We all know how the information was provided
We all love 558
We all love 655.

Poor Dee only asked one simple question.
(Yes Dee, it would seem 'Mushrooming' applies to any aircraft now ;) )

It was intended to be a light-hearted comment, in the hope of causing faint amusement. But hey, this is Iconic, so I shouldn't be surprised if some people can't see the funny side. :YMSIGH: 8-|

Here, here glad I saw the funny side too, some folk( ~x( ) wouldnt recognise good natured barracking if they had it explained by a very barracky person, chill out ya miserable s***!

All at TVOC are definitely thankful for all the "Vulcan Trundling" we get ;) helping us to continue "mushroom picking" for some time to come, Thanks to Sooty and the gang at 655, :D

Dee don't worry mate, early warning of imminent "mushroom picking" sorties will be posted in plenty of time. :D
