Read that earlier on UK*R, according to a source AFT have flown their aircraft to Wellesbourne today with some "cargo stuff" having gone to East Midlands.

AACF are still operating minus the Dakota which has gone "somewhere" this afternoon, infact they have a night shoot at Coventry this Sunday but without ATC or facilities like fire trucks they're gonna need to move at some point.

They've been due to leave (well expand) for a while viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1934
So I guess this will just speed things up a notch, or ground them.

I understand that this morning aircraft where given an hours notice that the airfield would shut. Wellsbourne seems to have been rather busy today including a Dakota that landed their.

Hi all.
Seems like Coventry airport has opened at least for today as there is quite a few aircraft in the circuit at the moment. :)

Coventry was one of the "relief" airports when the weather got bad and others closed so it probably is all the aircraft that were grounded there departing.

Talking to some chaps at Autosport, it's looking likely that Coventry will re-open weekdays only. Flying school is chuffed, although they'd prefer the weekend as well.

Apparently, for some reason the runway there is very easy to clear in bad weather, hence it was used as a relief airfield.

Eta for XV232 is between 10:30 and 12:00 now , they're hedging their bets :))
When she does arrive she will be parked next to the Shack [which will be open for a look around for a donation] for a unique photo op ;)
Plus most of the Classic Flights aircraft will be out too ;)
Well worth the £5 entry fee [which includes a £3 off entry voucher for the Airbase museums opening weekend at the end of the month] imo ;)

Edit
Confirmed 12:00 arrival ;)
