Bomber Command Memorial

Postby 34053 » Fri May 14, 2010 9:57 am

At long last, the sacrifices made by the crews of Bomber Command (55,000 young lives lost) is going to be recognised. Yesterday, Westminster City Council approved a permanent memorial to Bomber Command, to be sited in Green Park, London. For more information on the Campaign, please visit:

[First the approval to the 'Sir Keith Park' Memorial and now 'Bomber Command', it is encouraging that the roles paid by the 'forgotten' during World War Two are now being acknowledged].

Sooty

One Olympus 301 has twice the power of a complete F1 starting grid.
XM655 has four of them, all serviceable.

But I heard on the radio this morning and it is on the BBC website

"has attracted some objections from groups including the Westminster Society, the Knightsbridge Association and the London Parks and Gardens Trust"

What a pity
I'd rather be skiing

Nice to see the 55000 finally recognised!

Not before time, just read "The killing skies" by Simon Read, it was a suicide mission every flight, every flight that was sanctioned by the government.
