Thanks to Gaz I managed to get permission to visit the 747 during the CWJ day , here's some pics of her

I might put these on a 'hidden' page on the Guppy forum as well so that I can upload nearer the original density as photobucket reduces them down in size to 800 x 600 max and the quality goes a bit, anybody know another way round it please?

I wonder how long until she is scrapped?

Thanks SBA :)

Tip: Hold down CommandCTRL to select multiple files. (more options)

Clicking that link just before you upload gives you the chance to increase the resolution up to 1024x768 for a free account I think ... just a small improvement ;)

Poor old girl :(

Next time I get a chance I'll get some photos of the inside. Be forewarned though, it's just as depressing

I had a look at her twice in a short space of time, not all that long after she arrived, whenever that was...mid to late '90s maybe?

First time we were on an organised tour to see '558 in her dismantled state prior to the lottery funding being in place. We were taken up to the 747 first, but couldn't go inside. I think there is a photo somewhere of my brother's mini parked under her wing!

Second time, I had organised a trip for my Cub Scouts to see '558, but whoever was supposed to unlock the hangar didn't turn up. But we got to see the 747 - and went inside this time. Seem to remember it was complete then, apart from most of the cockpit instruments.

Weren't there grandiose plans to turn it into a conference centre at one time?

There was! Planning issues got in the way though. They started work on it, hence, she's stripped out now.

Didn't realise Brunty had a 747 - where is she parked? Didn't see her when we were down in 2008

Down by the intersection, half way down the runway.
