Rolls Royce Trent 1000

I can't see where anyone's mention seeing this programme ............

BBC How to Build a Jumbo Jet Engine

Nearly cast it aside as yet another 'How do they do that' type thing .... but its actually astonishing :-o

Well worth a look if you missed it - I mean ....fan blades made to 7 micron tolerances :-o :-o :-o :-o
Fan blades heated and then 'inflated' with inert gas to make them hollow :D :D :D

Just incredible engineering - work of art genious :)) :)) :))

MW and I have been away, but I just managed to see this programme (we had only that minute got back to our B&B in Southport) and I found it absolutely fascinating and very impressive. I must watch it again.
Also, we were actually in Derby (driving around the Ring Road) on Thursday, en route to our next destination.
