It's been said there is a general feeling outside France that Continental have been made scapegoats

Seems to me that of all the involved parties, Continental had the least responsibility, but of course they had the major disadvantage that all the other parties were French. :-?

Justice my arse! Oops, please excuse my French. ~x(

Unfortunately these days there is no such thing as an accident anymore. I do feel sorry for the families who lost loved ones in the crash and I do understand that some of them (maybe the majority) feel like they need someone to blame and justice to be served but in my opinion it really was just a tragic accident that should have been laid to rest a long time ago.

It is heartbreaking to see that horrible video footage of the plane on fire on the news again.

What happened to the eye-witness reports of Concorde being on fire before reaching the metal strip? Hope Continental fight this bollox.

Well said.

I thought it was the responsibility of the airport authority to ensure that the runway was FOD free? Could make for some interesting movements ... could you please do a low fly-by after take-off to check you haven't left anything behind? (!)

I really hesitate to get involved with this issue. I used to see Concorde fairly regularly at BoB Finningley Airshows where she would arrive, collect the charter group and fly off and then return later in the show. The airshow people at Finningley used to place the interlocking crowd barriers very close to the taxy way and on one occasion Concorde taxied past with the wingtips actually over the heads of the front couple of rows. On one more famous occasion during the Vulcan 4-ship scramble not only the barriers but dozens of people went arse over apex as they taxied onto the runway.

To get back on topic. There will never ever be such an Iconic aircraft, civil or military, and all those who saw her take off and land (that was an awesome sight in itself with that 'droop snoot') will I'm sure never forget that experience.

I attach a link to a YouTube video, (I don't even know what embed means!!)

Visit James Kirk's album, he is German but with a deep seated love for Concorde and this video still gives me a MASSIVE lump in the throat :( :( :(

As for the music ... brilliant :ymapplause: and I normally hate soundtracks over aircraft videos.

No problem Ian - if you go to edit on your post you'll see what part of the link I quoted....

This link may help but still not sure after rewording it many times it makes much sense!! :))

For me the British Airways video of Concorde always used to bring a lump to the throat.

I expect it's been mentioned before. At the time when Concorde was withdrawn there were better copies of this video about but I'm not sure if they are so easy to find nowadays?

2 lovely videos there that are really sad to watch.

I don't so much mind music on video's so long as it's fitting.

I found this video a while ago, I posted it on here somewhere but seeing as this is the Concorde thread I will pop it back into here too.

The first 45 seconds is just an intro, the music is haunting for Concorde and it never fails to bring a tear to my eye!

Plus this short video too showing an amazing Lightning style take-off from Concorde at Le Bourget

Time To Say Goodbye - sounds like a Sarah Brightman version - she did a solo and and a version with Andrea Bocelli not sure which it is as I haven't listened to it..
