Well it was either Highway to the Danger Zone playing that gave it away or when Tom Cruise climbed out of the cockpit the game was up as there's a MINIMUM height for being a pilot :ymdevil:

BBC News: Chinese Air Force used footage from 'Top Gun' in promotional film.

They were rumbled when someone noticed Tom Cruise looked a bit short for a Chinaman. :))
