These pictures was taken last year in july on the "Henry Coanda International Airport" near Bucharest. The occasion was that i go there to an airshow, celebrating the Aviation Day in Romania. This was the first commercial plane who landed after the show.As you can see in the second picture, placed on the fence is the sign:cameras are forbidden! :(

I'm not positive, but I believe I have
seen this same aircraft here in Bangor!

I like DC-10s, but I like L-1011s better......

And then, there are also TRIDENTS!

I think the Omni Air DC-10 I saw was
delivering US servicemen* home from
Afghanistan........

Bangor is often their first arrival on
American Soil!

There is a local association which meets
every flight going over or coming back.
Everyone gets a handshake and a hug and
free snacks and free cellphones and a
heartfelt welcome home or bon voyage!

Got any L-1011s?????????????

*and women.....

Unfortunately not! This is the only DC-10 that can i manage to take some good photos with him.The L-1011 is not a regular visitor here.Is that i call "exotic". :( And you are right about the OAI.They transport personnel from US Army. And about the women, come here and meet as many as you like.Romania is full of them. ;) :D

I was once on a flight in the US and was
seated next to a Romanian fellow.

This was right around New Year time, and
he told me the greeting was "Multi Anni!"

Did I get it right???????????

This was YEARS ago!

And you had to TOAST when you said it!

With Champagne!

And this was on a Boeing 727, the "BUS"
of American air transportation.....

It turned out to be a very FUN flight!

And one of the best things about WOMEN
is that they are EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you, Dagger..........

That was a lot of Fun for me to remember
that flight so long ago!

The Flight Attendants were very TOLERANT
of our Happiness on that occasion -- Thank
GOD!

Oh, and it was on a TWA flight, BTW......

I think I still have his business card somewhere.........

You do, but (IMHO) the DC10 wasn't one of them. That engine in the VS never looked right to me, much prefer the L1011.

Many good memories of going back and forth from UK to the Middle East on Gulf Air Tristars.

XM655 has four of them, all serviceable.

I found this picture with another DC-10,but is not from OAI.This one is from World Airways and was the first plane who take off after the Air Show was finished.Badly is that i can manage to do just one shot before he take off and i don't see the registration.
