May as well change this to use for anything interesting you hear is going into an airbase/port

Hony::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Just so you know, Galaxies tend to be
very quiet and can sort of sneak up
on you. If you can get an advance warning
via radio/wireless, it might be a good thing.

They also appear to just hang in the sky
due to the sheer size of them.

We get quite a few of them here in Bangor.
The New York ANG in Newburgh, NY, comes
up here for training, touch-and-goes, etc.,
on a regular basis......

I pick up Waddington very clearly on the scanner, so hopefully I'll hear him call up before he gets here, if the winds in the right direction I have a pretty good view of the approach, although not good enough for pics sadly :((

Maybe I'll have a walk to Cherry Willingham (my school was almost directly under neath the approach) with my camera

Was just going to say the same thing

Might change my plans tomorrow and spend a couple of hours at Coningsby then head over to Waddington about half 4 nd see if anything shows up

That was it arriving.

At the end of the runway (02 end)

And that was it leaving

It has the strangest engine noise I think I have ever heard :))

I heard it coming at least 5 miles away before it actually came into view. I knew it was a big thing, but didn't realise it was that big, but I kind of like it

Keep watching till the end, the first bit is taken from quite a way from the approach.

And here's the Lancaster $\:D/$

She didn't stay out very long, so I hope there weren't any problems.

Well I had a choice today - Finningley - Coningsby - or Waddington so I chose to go Finningley 558 did engine runs. Any ideas when the Dak is up again?

I Loved your Reaction on the Vid!

Glad you can check the C-5 off your list, Helen.....

One reason for the sound is that the engines are,
I believe, unique to the type.....

IMHO, they put the Antonovs to SHAME!

A wonderful and majestic and Superb aircraft!

And if IA ever has to change its name for whatever
reason, I suggest we turn it into "Superb Aircraft"!
