Not technically a spotted as I didn't actually see it, but a 747 just landed at Doncaster, I was tracking it on that radar thingie, it didn't have any flight info, so it wasn't until it turned onto finals that I realised it was going to land there.

We have had a Tornado over Wittering since before lunchtime, no doubt not the same aircraft, he has been flying the same track, Dead North with a 30º tilt to port. He must have made the same run 40 or more times, presumably a new piece of targeting equipment or some of the software is being tested. Great to watch.

I always have a camera, unfortunately the jets are far too high to get a decent image!

EDIT He's back again in the Wittering overhead at 20:10!

It would appear that it's a 31 Sqn machine!

Ok, whatever I can get a photo of I usually do even if it is at over 30,000ft and trailing. I don't really know the point in it but it keeps me occupied.

I had friends round when the C130 flew by and I said, excuse me while i get my camera and be sad

Absolutely no point in taking a shot that only shows a silhouetted plan form of a Tornado!

There were 2 Herks at Bournemouth today, 1 C130J and 1 C130H the latter was Omani and the other was RAF.

Just heard the RAF's A330 is up and about this evening from Boscombe. It is currently up near Blackpool at present. Looking out for it on Plane Plotter but not seen it yet.

30 minute display today and a flypast tomorrow before heading back south...........

Puma XW224 called in at Wittering this morning and stayed about 25 minutes.

Perhaps the pilot had an Omani accent over the radio!

A loud prop aircraft went over at 11:47 - just minutes earlier the Omani Herk left Hurn. We are under where they turn after takeoff too

Yellow seaking just passed by into Waddington , nice to see on a Sunday. Don't see many up this way on a week day let alone a weekend

I think he is going to Cranwell for a "display" as he asked Waddington "Are you in charge of the Cranwell display"

I think i heard and saw a Spit today, headed north.
It definately was a warbird or something with an old piston engine but it sounded like a Merlin.

Merlins have three engines Junior!

Yes, and a Spitfire has a very distinctive sounding Rolls Royce Merlin (or Griffin) engine and i don't recall a helicopter like that being a warbird with a piston engine

RC-135 inbound to Waddington, just past by our house.

Also a very low Thomas Cook A321 from Doncaster to Dalaman went over us, they are normally too high to see but he was under 10000 I'd guess, as we could read the Thomas Cook on him.

Same said RC135 sat on pan outside hangar, also 51 Sqn R1 11:00 flew over for the salute to the R1 completing its service life. Next flights should be to where they can rest and be given some TLC in retirement and for people to be able to see another piece of british aviation heritage for a while longer.

Should think that there 's an AWFUL LOT of KIT to be removed from each airframe first!
