First up,wing stub...unlike the cut on G-AWZK which was too shallow and made the rebuild very difficult PO has more meat for re attachment and has the MLG attached.

Latest from the fireground,
I can now announce that the dismantling and transport preparation of Trident G-ARPO is now complete after a day of raising the undercarriage and a checkover of all parts and doors. A date for the movement to the North east aircraft museum will be announced soon .
We would like to thank all our sponsers from a variety of fields as well as yourselves for the great help to get to this stage. Once we are at the museum the task of restoration will begin . We are now collecting donations for the resteration of both the inside and outside .

Thanks Dan 4th for your kind comments, Yes it will be worth all that work and we can all enjoy. It not has been as straight forward all the way through as nothing is, what with the weather against us a few days and also the length it has sat there with bolts siezing and corroding that sinply dont come undone like ones just decomissioned

one of our first jobs will be to get the wheels filled with solid fill, so we will like to get a sponsor for the 10 tyres , so if anyone has a personel contact in the trade, appreciate the lead.We will have the fuse in the air for a little while while we restore the legs and paint up

I never thought that I would donate to help preserve a 'tube'..

However I think that Papa Oscar should be preserved as a testimony to Hawker Siddeley Aviation, if nothing else, and personally because I used to watch the Tridents launch from Heathrow in the 60s on my not too frequent visits to 'The Smoke' as a teenager.

It is also an Iconic Aircraft..

Bit of a plea for help regarding this project... we've been hit with an insurance bill to top us up to the required £50 million for moving the aircraft to the museum. This amounts to an extra £2,000 that we've got to find, and we don't have that lying around...

We will be departing Teesside airport for Sunderland museum at 06:00 on Sunday morning.

Hi All
Its finally arrived... After so much work and planning the Trident has arrived at the North East aircraft museum.
On Saturday the Trident was lifted 3 times as we had to lift over 2 fences to get out of the airport. This went really well and didnt take as long as we expected. After being parked up at dtva overnight the Trident was moved out under police escort at 5.30 sunday morning . It didnt take long before she arrived at the North East aircraft museum where it was lifted temporary into the car park .
We would like to say a massive thankyou to MSD cranes, JDPL ,Sveargods,Serco,DTVA, Durham and Cleveland police forces and the NEAM,for making this such a successful weekend. We would like to say a huge thankyou to all our other sponsers and the public with their donations and sponserships making this project possible.
With the remaining parts following over the coming weeks , we shall then make a start in preserving and restoring her. As soon as we get a permanant position for the trident we will re-attatch tail and wings etc and get it painted.
Obviously we can only proceed each stage after we have raised the money to move forward so any future donations will be accepted very gratefully.
hope to get some pictures up soon on here but if you cant wait , Neil Lomax flicker site should have a fair few on already.

We have made arrangements for the tail and wings to be transported to the museum on 18th and 19th of august. This will then complete the move from Teeside to the museum and the process of restoration will begin.

Hi All,
We can now announce after 2 days of lifting and transporting that all of the trident aircraft is now at the north east aircraft museum.
We would like to thank all of our sponsers and everybody who donated to getting the Trident to NEAM.
The whole operation of moving and transporting went very smoothly and i hope to get some pictures up shortly

We now move onto the next stage which will be restoration and preservation with the main gear and nose wheel being on the agenda first.

We would also like to recruit some new members who can help with the restoration , who have an eye for detail and are team players.
Of course Moving forward with the restoration is very much dependant on donations, the more we can raise the more we can do in a shorter period so if you can help we would be very grateful, Any fund raisers are most welcome too.
Once again i would like to thank everybody who has contributed as we would never have got this far.

Hi All ,
Well it has been two months since the Trident arrived at the museum and i can say that if you have not seen our website lately i can tell you that restoration/preservation is well under way with the cockpit and front passenger cabin.. The cockpit is being painted and exclusively being undertaken by Neil Lomax and is coming along quite nicely.The front p/x cabin is totally stripped out bar the overhead shelving and is being prepped for painting.Outside the areas where we cut for dismantling have been primed to protect for the winter as well as the port leg has been further strengthend by Flavell welding. We have also have had a whole trident main gear leg and tyres donated by North Brook college at shoreham airport which is now at the museum of which we will be changing the tyres over. Julian has also sourced some front tyres for us of which we hope to start doing over the coming weeks.We have also recruited 3 more members to the team who are local to museum and have vast experience in restoring aircraft. We have also learnt from the museum comittee that the museum are looking to give us a permanant location in the museum for rebuilding the trident very soon .
For us to move forward we need to raise the money to do the next stage . We need to buy the paint for inside, carpet for the forward cabin , material for seat covers . Outside we need to look at having the money to put a solid tyre compound in the tyres, have the cleats made up for joining the wings and tail back. Anyone who can make a donation towards this stage it will be very much appreciated by us all as we can only move forward when we have the monies donated in place. It is the intention from the detailed plans i have been shown that the museum wants to put the trident and the vulcan to that respect undercover but these are the long term plans as we all know buildings dont come cheap.The idea is for us to be able to get it back complete so it will be shown and maintained as soon as they can allow us and the undercover phase in the future .Since we have arrived at the museum we have had great support from the museum and with a majority of the members being quite ethusiastic since its arrival.
The plans we have will see the trident painted into the Northeast livery with Northeast title on one side and British airways on the other (This is how the trident 1e looked in 1976 when NE was taken over by British airways. The Trident will always keep its original registration, no doubt about that as it will always be the 1c .Its cockpit will be mainly 1c as will the rear passenger cabin as we are doing that in the BEA /BA seat configuration and colours. There will also will memorabillia cabnets in this section . The front passenger cabin will be set up in Northeast 1e configuration and colours and complete. Many other features will also be included to enhance the experience of being back on a Trident. This our plan to represent both the 1c and the 1E Tridents that flew from the area of the Northeast and will also reflect the theme of the museum. To make this happen and people want to see this then this can only be acheived by everyone helping us with a donation.. We as a team wished we had the money ourselves to make this happen but most of us just do ordinary jobs and give up our time to do this. , thankyou tony
