Red Arrows Accident at B/mouth [merged]

Postby Mayfly » Sat Aug 20, 2011 2:56 pm

Thanks to Minty for the heads up

A Red has crashed at Bournemouth just after finishing it's display. Pprune say Sky reporting pilot ejected and was pulled from a river by dogwalkers.

BBC reporting it here.

One Olympus 301 has twice the power of a complete F1 starting grid.
XM655 has four of them, all serviceable.

There are various posts saying it is red4 and my local news saying 1fatality. I hope not and also hope the mod tell us some good news soon.

The time taken for them to go to press is worrying

Very very sad if true - BBC still not reporting that news yet - but MOD reported to give a statement within the hour.

This is all so sad......

I don't know what to say except
condolences to the family and to
the other Reds.

This has to hurt beyond words.

You know, I think he perhaps
was trying to bring it down away
from doing harm on the ground....

Very very sad :(

As what has now become expected of IA - suitable acknowledgement and remembrance has been arranged.

Rest in peace.
