I have a Yupiteru MVT7100 and it is fab

no gaps, straight through freq and does what it says on the tin... a bit bulky but it's solid and holds up well to a base antenna.

Step sizes and mode

FM: 1 KHz, 5 KHz, 6.25 KHz,(Very nice) 9 KHz, 10 KHz, 12.5 KHz, 20 KHz, 25 KHz, 50 KHz and 100 KHz.

Wide FM: 50 KHz, 100 KHz

AM: 1 KHz, 5 KHz, 6.25 KHz, 9 KHz, 10 KHz, 12.5 KHz, 20 KHz, 25 KHz, 50 KHz and 100 KHz

USB/LSB: 50 Hz, 100 Hz, 1 KHz, 5 KHz, 6.25 KHz, 9 KHz, 10 KHz, 12.5 KHz, 20 KHz, 25 KHz, 50 KHz and 100 KHz.

It is very sensitive and does a great job of picking up signals, especially military. I have has ISS, RAF Linton/Leeming?LBIA/Humberside from York on a base antenna and I have connigsby tower from Skegness on a handheld! Maritime works well.

I just wish the police hadn't gone digital, was great fun listening in to them.

That's nothing, I don't have any fancy antenna, just the standard little one that came with the scanner and I can pick up Manchester approach from my bedroom in Lincoln :D
And this morning a fast jet (missed the call sign) took off from Newcastle and asked Scottish control for the latest weather at Glasgow =)) .
I love getting random transmissions :))

When we go up into the wolds near Belmont, I pick up Brize sometimes too which always amuses my mum :))

Before I was born my dad had one of those big box ones with a massive antenna on the house. Not sure what happened to it though, even mum can't remember where it went.

Which is the reason why i've gone for yours as my old one struggled to pick up Brize when I was standing at the perimeter fence let alone hundreds of miles away :))
