XH558 Jubilee Tour

I know we had a snippet of a flypast at Woodford the other week but it would be nice to see her over our way during this Jubilee tour again.I am interested to see what links Birmingham and Coventry had with her development ? Someone enlighten me on that one !
It would be nice if she actually touched tarmac at Woodford but i guess that will never happen due to some sort of breach of the peace ect !
Good luck with the flight and i hope loads of people get to see her.......but not in the Manchester area where she was born

I'm no authority in Vulcan matters, but if this Saturday did not go ahead
and the funds would help towards her winter service, then let it be so.

What will her winter service entail 2012-2013 I followed the 2011-2012 & that
seemed to be extensive/expensive work carried out, do the wing spars
need attention this time....? all respect to the brilliant engineers.

In closing maybe the Saturday flight should go ahead provided HMG
paid for it all , their could be some bomb bay passengers (Abu Hansa & his mates)
taken over the Bristol Channel for one way trip.

I'm sure Dan dosen't want them over there.......!

lot of her parts came from the midlands etc (Boulton Paul , smiths, dowty)

Yes its Magna Park, and you ll see best if you stay at the edge. There is a small road marked Bitteswell just past MPk on the A5 going north (to Hinckley etc) that is worth trying, good sky view and not used by lorries etc. Good Luck !

still showing £8835 so over £6k short of target. I still can't understand the logic in spending money which was assigned to the winter service on this little jolly when they should be accumulating a reserve of funds for those unforeseen costs that always arise and the begging bowl suddenly appears.

I just hope it doesn't come back to bit the Trust in a big way 'Any shortfall will need to come from our sparse cash resources, vital funds that are currently earmarked for commencing the Winter Service' - the word sparse concerns me the most.

Not sure about picking up slack Dan4th - they estimate £22k for the sortie and have asked for donations of £15K.

I agree with SBA whilst I understand the reasoning behind the tour I'm not convinced they will gain enough back in donations to make it worth while and if they believe it will why not have done it years ago? and with a winter funding appeal [I assume] coming up I wouldn't have thought the timing wasn't all that great.

ETA back at Finningley is 18.05 so I would think 17.50 ish but be there earlier to be on the safe side.

Not sure yet if I can be bothered to get of my ass and go see her for 30 second sighting.
