One thing I will say, and I'm glad to say it, all these memorials are very well looked after
(with the exception of the bird poo
), there's no graffiti or anything
especially when you consider that at Goxhill the pil box thing (I don't know what it actually is) is only a few yards up the road from the memorial and it's covered in graffiti and full of rubbish. The one that gave me a lump in the throat was this one.

Sadly I didn't get a close up, but it lists the names of Six 550 Squadron veterans who have passed away since their last reunion









Lincolnshire is a truly superb County, one which I will be visiting time and time again due to the Bomber Command connection. So much history, so much loss, a place I can't put into words. Roll on East Kirkby Night Taxi Runs
