Reported to have a 6 mth stay of execution until Sept 13 - not sure where the info is from. Can anyone verify?
In memory of a very dear friend - Mike Pearson

Very fond memories of Robbie Gilvary - DTs 1st Vulcan Captain who taught DT all he knew.

That's as far as they can go. There's a lot of speculation as always but final dates will depend on lots of other things.
Not a straight answer I know.

EDIT: plans appear to be coming along as well for GJD to acquire one and taxi it at Brunty.

It may not be the last one. They are looking at one they already have.

Ian, whichever one survives to taxi at Bruntingthorpe will be the LAST one! :ymdevil:

I just hope they have enough good
sense to save the best one for taxi
duty and the second-best one for
spares :)

And also to collect whatever else is
at Brize that might come in handy.....

I'm certain the air and ground crews
would be more than willing to help
out with this!

I mean, after all.....

It will, of course, take some group
or individual to make this happen....

Out of service now put back until Oct 2013. Some are saying it will be much later.

Time will tell...

Sounds to me like the Starlifters.......

Difficulties with the C-5s caused them
to run the C-141s until every single one
of them was timed-out :((

Last I heard, all the ones currently at Bruntingthorpe, have had their engines pulled. I could be wrong though

there's a series of pics of them on fighter control, shows all without engines but I suppose they could be re-fitted if the rest of the frame hasnt been touched, here's a link:

I heard from a reliable mate at Brize, just before christmas, that the 'tens are staying in service longer "incase the A330's have operational problem's" Whatever those might be,I did hear months ago that there was a problem AAR refueling Tornados with the Airbus.
