I would have joined tonight, but I'm at work (again). Good job we have access to the interweb, otherwise I might have to go out in the snow. Figured out how to use the auto -land on the VC10 complete with flare. It's great, all you have to do is shut the throttles as you pass over the threshold. I'm thinking of growing a handlebar moustache and buying a silk scarf. Nothing to this flying lark. ;) :D

autoland is even easier than that RLN..............

make sure you intercept the GPS ILS glideslope (the green funnel thingy on the GPS screen) at about 2,500ft - throttles at about 78-82% - 2 clicks of flaps (20 deg?) - this should bring your speed down to about 140-160knts

as you cross the threshold, deploy flaps to fully extended, flare and land, then deploy airbrakes/brakes ;)

no need to mess with the throttles as long as you have slowed down enough on approach - flaps cause enough drag to slow you to the right landing speed

Can somebody tell me why when I try to join a flight, FSHost says that the person isn't in a plane, yet on the initial screen it tells you what plane they are flying. I am becoming paranoid about this now. Is it in the settings or what?

I've been having a bit of trouble with the blue screen of death. I managed to fly for a short time with IanM, but I got the BSOD 3 times in a row. Think it has something to do with AVG. :((

I think it's funny that we both thought the other was in a Cessna, when you were in a Vulcan & I was in a VC10 :))

Shame I couldn't carry on, but every time I rebooted I got the BSOD. Managed to get back on to tell you, and now I'm waiting for AVG tech support. It didn't used to do it, I think it must be an updated file.
