I'm a sensible lady (most of the time

). My Taxi driver, I mean Mum

is normally there or there abouts, so I'm not technically on my own. We're both nature lovers, so drives in the country are something we have always done (Barn Owls love airfields too

), this new hobby kills two birds with one stone.
But most of these places fall into 1 of 3 categories:-
inaccessible/RAF/main road - Most of the sites fall into this. Where we pull over, I get out of the car, take a photo, get back in and drive off

. Or If I do go for a walk it's usually up a public footpath. There aren't that many places that you can freely roam over to be honest, most are private property.
A lot of my photos are taken from the sides of public roads.
Public - self explanatory. e.g. East Kirkby, Hemswell.
Or familiar places - I've been wandering about in the woods at Bardney and Woodhall for 20+ years, I feel safer there than I do in the middle of Lincoln to be honest. And yes, I often go in there by myself, I prefer it.
The last batch from Woodhall I was on my own, mum was too cold so went back to the car (It was -1).
It's been a while since I wandered around Bardney because it's no longer Forestry commission owned so I'm not sure of the rights of way any more, but when my dad worked there I used to run around the wood and play in the old nissan hut where the game keeper kept his pheasant feed

(shame it fell down several years ago

)
I never go in the buildings now though, I gave the ones in Woodhall a wide birth as well as the control tower at Wigsley (which I haven't posted any photos of it because it's just outside of Lincolnshire

)
You never know who might be inside or what might fall on your head.
The sites that I haven't been to are on the "haven't been to" list for a reason
I need the warmer weather so Mum will walk with me

*Cough* Birchwood*
*No offence intended to any residents of Birchwood estate but there's no way I'm wandering around there on my own

.
