I think you have pictures of two different B17s.
The one with the spinner on the prop was the Wright flying test bed for their turboprop engine.
The second B17 with a civilian N number was Pratt & Whitney's
test bed for their turbprop.
Pratt & Whitney donated the B17 to the New England Air Museum. Unfortunately it was badly damaged when a tornado touched down at the museum destroying many of the aircraft.
