I share with you some photos, including a rare photo with markings of the Royal Air Force, of the experimental airplane Armstrong Whitworth AW-52. It was a post-war development aircraft, so it is hard to see the point of the question. :-? :-? :-?

One Olympus 301 has twice the power of a complete F1 starting grid.
XM655 has four of them, all serviceable.

The Luftwffe had a "Flying Wing" off the drawing board & airborne during WW2... I'm not sure if it was rocket powered.
