As usual, SM took SO LONG to formate, that Fosil fuels were now obsolete and I ran out of the stuff ... no matter how hard I tried after a re-fuel, I couldnt re-start the engines, so time for a splash

superb sortie today - other than GameShite playing up. Wedgy did a FANTASTIC job trying to plug into my HDU, but GameShite was so jumpy, it would reposition our a/c in a flash

when i tried, i know Wedgy will agree, it was even worse! I'd be lined up nicely behind him, and then he'd suddenly appear half a mile BEHIND me!

then landed at Sandown, Isle of Wight. my Victor landings are better, but I'm still having trouble sighting the runway properly. whilst Wedgy flies in F11 view (his screenies are how he flies! ) i do it 'properly' from the cockpit; I'm still trying to find the correct reference points in the windscreen to land on the centreline - all my landings seem to be too far to the right at the moment

even so, Wedgy did the same as me and then landed THROUGH me!

to help them get some lessons in formation flying for the vulcan sim tonight SM & Wedgy asked me for some pointers, so got out our piper cubs....

first was formation on the way to Cranwell from Coningsby





then touch & go at Cranwell





we landed at Cottesmore & toook off again for Waddington & Wedgy decided he would get his weekly excerise by doing aerobics on the way, then more formation

Once Mayfly had to go, we decided to go AS FAST AS WE COULD in Tornado's. SM decided to do this in the middle of nowhere at NIGHT. I just followed his reheats

A trip round a few airstrips in New Zealand today
I chose the Hunter, SM in the Meteor








I then changed to a JP for some low level Mountain flying


Can you see the airstrip? SM couldn't


Then found MY FAVOURITE FSX airstrip EVER NZMF Milford Sound

Crazy to approach from one end as it requires a dive bomb. Crazy to approach from the opposite side to a sheer cliff face.

a bit of role-reversal today; twice i landed my Meteor perfectly and had to wait for Wedgy to crash his Hunter and reload!

i thought this airstrip was bad enough - rather difficult to find initially, being tucked away between mountains!


and then on to the nightmare that is NZMF - Milford Sound, New Zealand ...


i had full flaps deployed, airbrakes deployed, u/c down, bugger all throttle - trying to avoid towering mountains and cliff-faces - still doing about 200+ knots

hmmm not sure what happened on that landing at Birmingham, first of all I was too far right the next way too far over to the left - graphics definitely playing up tho' [no excuse tho' I'm still rubbish] this was view when SM said I was on the grass & he & Wedgy were lined up on the piano keys centre line, & both your aircraft appeared Grey again to me
