Evening all,

Just to clear up a few things.

The check that has not been done was never part of the RAF major, I did 2 years on 3 (Eng) Sqn @ St Athan on the mainplane structures team. In this time we would have serviced over half the fleet and we never did any of the work that is outstanding as it was never called up.

Andrew E was in front of the public for most of Saturday afternoon, I assume that is when he finally admitted defeat, and all day Sunday including a very close encounter with the idiot in a white shirt who was determined to abuse as many people from TVOC as he could.

I don't know who you are Sir, but if you are reading this I hope you are now as ashamed of your actions as the lady who was following you round all day obviously was on Sunday.

Please do not Quote this comment anywhere else, this is my personal opinion.

Sam, still the short half of the heavy mob.

Sam,

Just because you don't recall doing any of the Structural Sampling work on your 2 years on Majors, does not mean it did not happen. As I said in my original post..

The checks being discussed originally formed part of the original RAF Major servicing, which was being carried out alongside all of the Enhanced inspections and modifications XH558 recieved during her restoration. Originally, as the name suggests, the sampling checks were carried out across a percentage of the fleet, to give a broad idea of the condition of the fleet, and were not carried out on every aircraft undergoing a major

Structural Sampling tests were, and still are carried out during major servicings, as and when required, due to the heavily stripped nature of the airframes, and the timescales required to complete the work. The SST's are an addition to the Major paperwork whenever the requirement exists for it to be carried out, and the SST's called up on 558 were all there on the original RAF Major paperwork, I can't comment on whether you have personally seen the SST paperwork for 558, but I have, having gone to the aircraft in the first instance to assess the work with a view to us carrying it out, and it was all on RAF Major paperwork. The tests required are not Destructive tests, however, they involve gaining access to areas often not seen since assembly, therefore require much removal of skins etc to carry out the work. This is why 603 was the ideal choice, as the aircraft was due to be broken up anyway.

FFM, Nice to see you on here Ron, hope things are going well over in leaping heap ville. :)).

You are of course right that the structural check requirement is raised on the Major paperwork for 558.

However, it's not the first time I have heard that no one ever remembers actually seeing the job done on a Vulcan Major. My question is do you know for sure if it was actually done on any Vulcan during the types service with the RAF??? :)

Has anyone stopped to consider that there was good reasons for not announcing it on the Friday? as far as i am aware efforts we still on going to sort the situation out quite late on Friday, had they announced it and people stayed at home only for 558 to have flown then the would have been ripped to shreds for that. To those calling for various heads i ask this, who will replace them? can anyone honestly think of anybody who would want to take the roles on? Sometimes it is better to have the devil you know.

It still surprises me how much faith people have in what someone tells them, i like a lot of people talk to a lot of people and find things out, but i am well aware there is also a lot i don't know, nobody here or on the "other" place has the full story and yet they are prepaired to make daming statements against persons based on bits of information, lets not forget that some of it comes from people who e know have a grudge against the managment so they are not likely to pass anything on in a fair and balenced way are they? Even SM is suffering a bit in the credibility stakes and to some his posts are seen as nothing more than another "anti T.V.O.C. rantathon" and while i think about it, the "other" forum members don't think this forum is trying to subvert the other one, of the people who have commented the opinion of this one is a " refugee for embitterd moaners who cant or wont move on" to quote one, and the rest either dont know of this forums existence or dont care. the only forum of the two that makes comments about the other is this one.

And if you think im exageratting take a look at the poll SM posted, a tiny percentege have actually voted on it and that is down to credibility, nobody is listening anymore and of those that do only a few of those take it seriously, sorry if that offends but it's the truth.

before i go i would like to mention the promo girls, as one of those involved in the little exchange with Mr Burke i would like to point out that while i do not condone any of the terms used to discribe them i wasnt impressed at all by how they were acting, they were being paid by us to promote our project not to be leaning over barriers with having various people taking photos of their backsides, i don't expect at a airshow to have to answer " why are those men taking pictures of her bum daddy" to my 5 year old daughter, and they werent in the back of the village or where ever when i saw them, they were either standing out front empty handed or trying to pull passing airmen.
i couldnt count how many people walked by them unleafleted while they stood there empty handed chatting away to each other. and before you start i thought Lisa at Cosford was brillient, she worked her socks off all day and only stopped for lunch, she also turned up for the training day, if we are to have promo girls lets get her back she was worth what we were paying her.

And finally, i stand by what i said about Mr Burke during our exchange, i didnt insult him or call him anything that wasnt true, i would say exactly the same to his face if he is ever unlucky enough to meet me.

thats it ..im done

Mayfly, if you were so offended by what I said on Saturday when why didn't you say anything to my face? You just sat there and stored it up until you could release it on a forum you know full well I don't go on, a forum where you know you have a lot of support and I have very little.

I may be loud and bolshy but I say what I think, when I think it, and I have the balls to say things to people's faces. Sometimes (often) this gets me into trouble but I'd rather be me than go behind someone's back.

I know a lot of people don't like what I said but TBH the amount of supportive texts/PMs/emails I had off people who were watching made me realise that the only people who matter are behind me all the way.

I am not prepared to enter into a slanging match here. Please feel free to PM me for my email address if you would like to take the matter further.

Mister Squeak:

I have no idea who you are. I can't see any posts where Pam
has blamed anyone for anything or made any negative
comments about any individual.

If first impressions mean anything, I think you ought to
back up and come in again -- the correct way. Not like a
bull in a china shop.

It also might be nice if we knew what the H**L you're
talking about.

Thanks, Helen, but so what? I have no way of
knowing any of that. I don't do rude myself, and
I don't like people who DO whatever their gender
might be.

That post was like someone smashing-in the DOOR

OOOOOoooooooooooooooops! Sorry, a slight grammatical stutter I think! =)) =))

Got to agree with D4th on the post from Squeek. It did seem a bit vigorous and I couldn't relate it to any previous post on this thread? It sounds like a personal issue and could perhaps have been best dealt with by PM to Mayfly.

Solutions to Aggressive Posting.

On the subject of posts which are more aggressive than we have come to expect here on Iconic, I find that the way to deal with them is to adopt one of the following entirely reasonable approaches:

1. Make reasoned, polite comment, with supporting evidence for your logical and well mannered response. :D :ymapplause:

2. Ignore it as the ramblings of the insane, log out and listen to some peaceful music. B-)

3. Utter some suitable expletive X(, log out, take the dog for a long walk, drop in the pub and chill out. If your still interested after that, follow step 1. :)

4. By force of your superior manipulation of the great English language, use carefully considered comment, indisputable evidence, good willed wit and repartee, to create a reply and Rip the virtual throat out of the paltry literary efforts of the ill-informed, semi-illiterate, opinionated moron who posted the offending trivia. :ymdevil:

Strangely, I find number 4 very satisfying, especially if followed by kicking the cat (any one will do), walking the dog and a pint at the local to chill out! :ymdevil: :ymdevil: =)) =)) =))
