Thursday at Lowestoft

Postby IanM » Sun Jul 26, 2009 12:55 pm

We arrived just as the Blades were displaying, then came the Apache...

Whilst Team Guinot were doing their thing the commentator uttered the words "She's here....." and sure enough to the south 558 could be seen circling and when it was time for her display there were more people standing on the beach than there had been all day :)

As she howled and spiralled away a round of applause erupted :)

The East Anglian Air Ambulance made an appearance...

A Sea King from RAF Waddington was due to display but was called away on a shout but managed a flypast...

The Red Arrows arrive...

...and do their thing...

That ended the show :)

5 minutes later we were all soaked and sheltering in stalls on the sea front but a great day out and all for a £2 donation!

Indeed, even the girlfriend had a good day :))

I'll forgive her for the comment when 558 opened the bomb doors... "that looks like a toy and that's where you put the batteries" ~x(

Nice photos Ian..

AA batteries could resemble bombs in the bay...... If you squint hard enough that is ! ;) (it's a girlie thing... I guess) :))

Great pics Ian, love the F16 in those colours; wish the RAF would do something similar with a Typhoon.....

Anyone handy with photoshop want to try a colour scheme????

I must apologise to the lady in the Vulcan Village who I think I confused at the end of the show by saying "I didn't realise you were here" to which the reply was

"have you not looked at the website?"

"I meant I didn't realise this..." points at Vulcan Village "... was here."

"it's everywhere 558 goes, you need to get yourself on the forum."

"I am... oh nevermind..."

What I actually should of said was "I didn't realise the Vulcan Village was located here, on this bit of grass, next to the rather nice girls giving out free shaving cream"

I blame my lack of communication skills on the good but long day and also my amazement that my girlfriend wanted to not only come with me but stay beyond 558's display until the end! Image

Hello whoever you were :D
