thanks for that Len it looks like its supposed to be back to hamilton tomorow but we will see (the weathers a bit rough at the mo thunder storms and high winds)

update:
been to hamilton airport still no sign of the elusive beast all i could find is this eye candy for Helen;

yes helen is has been flying today sounds great

shes back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
had to feed it a small cat though
unfortunately she is a little ill (got a leak on one of the legs) so no outdoor pics and my camera is u/s indoors
but i did get to go inside her; fantastic

my other pic inside is very dark as my flash is not working
and i could not go up to the cockpit as she was on jacks whith the wheel off

the guys said they now have a spare set as well so they can overhaul the older ones on the other side on the next service in november have a few more pic's but the internet is on a go slow at the mo will put them up later.

is that possible then? i thought port and starboard engines/gearboxes on a Lanc ran in opposite directions to cancel out the torque effect?

port and starboard props would therefore have to be mirrored

i was talking to one of the old guys at the warplane museaum and got to the subject of vulcans (how did that happen?)
it turns out he's a Kiwi, and he said that he had been in a vulcan cockpit once, said that one crash landed when it undershot the runway, he lived a couple of miles away from the diversion airfield where she put down, he said that he went over to have a look and the ladder was down and noe one was arround so he went in, then got shouted out at gun point when the guard finally woke up to the fact that someone had gone on board! he said that it was sitting on its wing tip for ages before the RAF came to fix her! small world!!!

that must be the one that someone posted on here a while back - the one where the NZs 'zapped' it with Kiwi markings before the return to Blighty

thats the one, i think you put a photo up the one without the canopy, and someone said that the rear crew 'may' have put the seat pins in to stop the pilots ejecting
