Well here we are at Ringwood - B&B has free WI-FI in the room B-) - about to brave the traffic in to Bournemouth - weather not brilliant - lots of fairly high cloud - but its dry and I think it will stay like this x_x

Looking forward to my first sight of XH since she got back in the air :D :D Twitter says 16.35 - here's hoping nothing gets broke in the meantime :p

Any clues on todays crew??

Well WHAT a day..... I saw SM ....and... Wedgy....and .... Gully ............... oh and I saw some aeroplanes too :)) :))

Seriously though it was BRILLIANT ... Seeing XH558 for the first time since 1992 was a total highlight of an excellent day - VERY hot and I had to buy a stupid hat to cover my thinning locks which you will no doubt see elsewhere :p The Vulcan dispaly finale was just awesome ... a full on, full blooded, HOWL and a spiralling climb away with carbon neutral (not!) black smoke trailing ...... it blew all that horrible grit into my eyes and it all got stuck in my throat too \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ \:D/

Then Mrs S and I walked the miles and miles and miles from where we were (and her with a bad foot too :( ) down to the VV and there to meet at last SM in his Cornish Rugby shirt (good man :D ) and Wedgy and Gully ... Good to meet you guys :D

I bought 2 of SM's new books and we are going to donate them to Mrs S's school library to try and get the youngsters to understand what's happening with XH558.

What a good day :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Thanks, Phill! "Great" doesn't even cover it!
I feel a little sorry -- well, not Really sorry at
all -- for that Commentator getting drowned-out
over and over. And that last part of her display
where she just spirals up and up and up --
WHEW!

And HEY! Why didn't he mention THE BOOK??????????????

That is the 'regular' Vulcan commentor.. (think his name is Shaun.. )

He knows her display like the back of his hand... he stays quiet when appropriate. What he cannot know is where people are filming from - so sometimes he appears to be drowned out on videos.

He mentioned the VV stall and always promotes the cause... (I don't really think a book promotion would go down well over a PA). He lets 558 sell herself... and does a good informative commentary into the bargain. He is our own Raymond Baxter IMO.. :D

Lovely climb-out on Saturday: the thunder just went on and on and on - perfect clear weather to see her spiralling away. Apparently Kev was at the controls on Saturday (whilst Martin was waving to the crowd!), with Martin flying Sunday's display.
