Actually by last weekend, I not only felt like it, but walked like it and probably looked like it too - and just don't ask about the muscles which keep the smile in place 8-}

Thanks for the kind words Aggy and Pudgy Knees; and SM you are quite right, my payment for this is not just to be around the aircraft, but to see her fly and if I can inspire someone new to feel the same way about the aircraft as I do, then it's a damn good day. :D

I'm still here Wedgy... It been a very busy time what with my day job (cough cough) and being allowed to work with 558 and the Groundcrew and Aircrew doesn't leave much time for forum posting. If I am tierd at this point just imagine how the full time groundcrew feel with all the traveling, living out of a suitcase, and long hours working on 558.

558 is a TEAM thing. Groundcrew, aircrew, admin, logistics, PR, voulunteers (ALL), club members to name but a few have from my inside view this year done so much work I am astounded at times. Long may it continue.

I set up a visit for a group of six on Saturday, they arrived about 10:30 along with a group from the medical centre and a crowd that Mike Pollit had organised.

Toni looked after them all, kept them happy and informed which left us free to get on with prepping 558 for the flight.

Here is a copy of the e-mail that was waiting for me when I got back in on Monday.

Dear Sam & Toni

On behalf of all of us from BRAA who had the opportunity to spend such a splendid day with you yesterday please accept a BIG Thank You from us all! It was magnificent, & way ahead of any expectations we may have had. Please will you pass our grateful thanks to All of your team, it was a truly memorable visit for us. I have had messages back from everyone and they all say the same - a 'once in a lifetime' experience, particularly as you were so busy not only preparing for the day's displays but packing for your move to Lynham too.

We all hope everything goes smoothly for your move, and that the rest of the season will be as good as yesterday for you. We are all looking forward to maintaining and developing our contact with you (we feel that a new & growing friendship was born yesterday) and we look forward to welcoming you to Bournemouth in the near future.

Hope the attached photo triggers a re-think for standard dress-code!!

I will also be very happy to firm up a date for you all to visit Solent Sky in Southampton.

Best wishes

Colin van Geffen

Sam

Thanks for that. It's nice to see some feedback from a visit and not just the thank you's on the day.
I also managed to show them rounnd the outside of a VC10 and C17 much to their pleasure.

Long may it continue.
