Perhaps Toni in her P.R. capacity would care to comment? :ymapplause:

As I said on the other thread I don't understand why it was posted on Prune first - I agree it should go on every site but 558 members have been asking for info on whats happening re sponsorship /fund raising & they were told 'be patient you will be told when there is something to tell'

Thing is we keep being told that so everybody behaves like good little children and shuts up and guess what? yup thats right bugger all happens. Video is quite good apart from that bloody music, though i can't help but think sponsors are still going to ask "what we get for our wonga"?

Usually, it's up to the sponsor itself to
determine how to use the sponsorship
to their advantage. Advertising in all
media is the first thing that comes to
mind, but internal PR with your employees
and stakeholders can be important, too.
AND with those millions at the airshows,
just your NAME next to Vulcan would be
extremely POWERFUL!!!!!!!!!!

And the list of benefits goes on just by
simple association with 558.......

Well having caught up on various fora today, it would appear that a certain one gone a bit quiet on what is happening with 558. I know it is not obvious where 558 will be wintered ;) and secret, confidential things are going on in the 'background' over where she will be staying and of new ways off making money, but I still get this feeling that we will still get a 'if we do not get x amount by y 558 will not fly again' at some point.

But I suppose I am too much off a cynic and should chill and stop joining the conspiracy theorists, doom and gloom merchants and the 'negativity brigade' :( and reflect on what a wonderful year this has been for the project, thanks to the dedicated engineers and all the support personnel without who this project would not be where it is today, so for them I will apologise for my doubts and thanks for making an old man happy over the last two years. :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause:

The video is indeed excellent, well produced and made me feel quite emotional due to the well written script and execution of same - but I agree with Bubbles the music is pathetic :( It should perhaps be Clannad for the smooth quiet fly bys - then Iron Maiden or something equally noisy for the climb aways :ymdevil: - or better still no music and more, much more, raw Olympus :D

I also think they picked on a strange example of Cosford - a bloke in a uniform bragging about a 4000 increase isn't much in comparison to that 30% drop at Waddington - and what about Bourenemouth - it was bursting to capacity.

I have to say I concur with Old Rigger too - I'm just waiting for the inevitable
'if we do not get x amount by y 558 will not fly again'
as it will surely come ;)

But also, I will say, its been a most excellent season and everyone involved in keeping her in the air needs hearty congratulations for all their hard work :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause:

Nice video and well presented. Let's hope someone who views it - may step foward and sponsor her within the next few months. (Can but hope)

Just a pity that VTTS didn't do a video like this 2 years ago IMO.

Impressed with the video, and as has been said, it has been very well scripted. Since when though is it going to be £2,000,000 to keep her flying? Has this figure been publicised before?

not that I am aware Iggie as annual costing- a figure in that region was published a short while ago to see her through the extra engineering she needs for next year, but it has always been a bone of contention that different figures have been stated by different management personnel. A classic of that was at roll out when 3 were interviewed & 3 different figures identified.

But this video is good well done to thoses concerned :ymapplause:

Managed to see this just now. Impressive video - well done to Sean and Planes TV. I really hope it works. Why not put it out on Sky and Virginmedia channels as the RSPCA or WWF do - give £3 a month sort of thing. Obviously it would have to be edited down, but that sort of advertising must work, otherwise the charities wouldn't do it.

I think that the music works well with 558's display and this vid, not that I am a particular fan on Clannad.

I agree about the Cosford example. They should have used Southport. 32000 on Sat, & 70000 on Sun. Southport did OK out of it too. £8 + £5 parking, that's a lot of extra dough, even if only a fraction of the extra came specifically to see 558 on Sunday.
