Yeah, but they could easily do it along with a paying customers day, so everyone benefits.
They do have more than one plane. Most formation teams do, you know.

Going to be VERY embarrassing if that falls over.....................

I've not heard anything about this - is there any more info anywhere?

'It is been offered for auction by the Blades'
giving the impresson that VTST has not gained any publicity from it [as yet]
or have I misunderstood?

Neither the Club or the Trust have any initiative in place to garner the public’s attention like last year, just a begging bowl that will simply not be filled.

you need to make an adjustment to your quoting, if you check back, Eceptionalsleeper (Steve) made the statement that you have attributed to me, I agree with it but didn't say it originally!
OK so appologies for that but what have I done to make you and Eceptionalsleeper form this opinion of me so I can ajust my attitude as my job puts me out front for the project and dependant on peoples good will?
Gully wrote:Interesting to note you're slamming the Club as well as the Trust now. May I ask why, please? You've supported us in the past.
The Club's just spent 4 days at Earls Court and 4 days at the NEC (both Top Gear MPH shows) raising awareness of the campaign, plus we're returning to Lincoln Market in early December. Contacts made at EC and the NEC are being followed up,including Classic Car Clubs and motoring press (already bearing fruit: http://www.retro-speed.co.uk/reports.asp), whilst fresh possibilities for the Education programme are being pursued. The Club has also delivered the Vulcan Village through 2009 - an outstanding fundraising and awareness success.
So far in 2009 the VTTS Club has donated somewhere in the region of £120k to the Trust and provided tens of thousands of pounds worth of voluntary support, banging the drum for '558 wherever we've appeared. What else would you like us to do? We are 8,000 people, of which probably only 1-2% are active in working to promote '558. We need positive ideas and suggestions from the membership if we are to maximise the undoubted potential of our membership.

My reasons:
The first time I spoke to you – a pre-scramble meeting and father & I had at Bruntingthorpe, you introduced yourself as being an ex Vulcan liney in the RAF, only today, to my amusement, I found out otherwise.
On the day of the Scramble; there was a barrier to prevent people from entry to XH558’s footprint area. Despite the fact that part of the fund-raiser entailed my father taking tailplane photographs of the 15 Vulcans, you actually tried to prevent my father – despite permission from Taff, from taking a photo beyond the barriers at Bruntingthorpe. Fortunately, my father has poor hearing when it comes to some people and several photographs were taken.
Several times, whilst I volunteered my services to the TVOC you ‘shunned’ me despite my politeness towards you, to the point I asked a fellow engineer what your problem was and that person replied “that is just Denis.... lots of expletives”
Whether it is my poor experience of you or otherwise, I have noticed your tendency to walk around with this comical over-bearing air of self importance/arrogance, yet you have failed on several occasions to fulfil your job of updating memberships. I know of three people who have not had their renewal membership cheques cashed, which were sent to you at; I assume, your home address.
Cottesmore families day, you for some reason spotted my father & I and had the audacity to shake both our hands and called for use to part with money, yet the TVOC couldn’t be bothered to get 558 serviceable (I know the full story on why she went U/S).
It is my opinion, along with others that you haven’t really painted a very good picture of yourself, I would have expected a better standard of attitude and politeness, as you say you are at the forefront of a charity.

I trust that the foregoing response has resolved any previous misunderstandings.
Denis can be a (allegedly (Without prejudice)) grumpy old sod BUT if you have his workload (public & private) then you might be excused too.
He actually is a bloody nice bloke to talk to IF you can get the pressure off for a few minutes. It is well documented that he is ex BT and only came along to 'help out with maintaining the electrics'.......
So hopefully this might start to draw a line under the issue. We don't want to descend to the level of public squabbling that happens 'over the road'.

You should canvas Steve (Exceptionalsleeper) for that answer!

Ahhh I think you are confusing me with Andrew Edmondson... because I was not involved in the planning of the Scramble and I have NEVER purported to have been in the RAF let alone being a "Liney" what ever that is?
I am the project "Anorak"On the day of the Scramble; there was a barrier to prevent people from entry to XH558’s footprint area. Yes I did try to prevent your Father crossing the barriers because that was the instructions given to me by my boss Andrew Edmondson and as I had not attended the Scramble meetings I did not recognise your father nor was I aware that Taff had given permission for him to cross the barrierSeveral times, whilst I volunteered my services to the TVOC you ‘shunned’ me despite my politeness towards you, to the point I asked a fellow engineer what your problem was and that person replied “that is just Denis.... lots of expletives”
Sorry again I have no influence or control as who can assist the ground crew with the aircraft, if you had wished to join the Sunday hangar team I would have welcomed you with open arms, with your experience in the RAF, and to which engineer do refer ?Whether it is my poor experience of you or otherwise, I have noticed your tendency to walk around with this comical over-bearing air of self importance/arrogance, yet you have failed on several occasions to fulfil your job of updating memberships. again I do not, as far as I know, walk around in the manner you discribe it has never been pointed out before by anyone?? As to memberships yes I have had problems in that area but it must be remembered that it is done on a voluntary basis in my spare time, after a full time commitment to my employment with the Trust and also find time to look after a seriously disabled wife.
Most of this year I have tried to cope with servicing 8000+ members and an average of 80-100 new members per week during the airshow season, alone.. would you care to take the job on? but I will warn you you will be still up at 3am some nights to keep your head above waterCottesmore families day, you for some reason spotted my father & I and had the audacity to shake both our hands and called for use to part with money, yet the TVOC couldn’t be bothered to get 558 serviceable (I know the full story on why she went U/S).
'558 is not in my sphere of operations you again need to talk to Andrew Edmondson ref servicabillity, at that ime I actually did reckognise you both and fund raising is what I was there for..It is my opinion, along with others that you haven’t really painted a very good picture of yourself, I would have expected a better standard of attitude and politeness, as you say you are at the forefront of a charity.
I am at a loss what else to say apart from I am sure a lot of what you say isn't down to me, but if I have as you say not painted a good picture of myself I will have to look to change things..

Thank you for your clarification, although my comments referred to experiences my father and I had with YOU and not Andrew.
I refuse to divulging details of the engineer to whom I spoke.
I am sorry your wife is disabled, I had heard about this but my memory is very rusty.

I just spotted this link over on UKAR.
