I guess the Vulcans in particular that will never fly or as some of them will never really move from that spot .Maybe the owners Museumes need to consider Cementing in a U bolt either side of the nose gear to enable tie down to prevent that happening in future not just 319 but all others that stand outside permanantly even it might save them having to spend hours removing snow or even worrying about high winds and save on much needed funds being diverted to repair resulting damage.Just a thought & I hope the damage to 319 is only skin deep and not structural.

Thats a shame theres so much damage, although as Haggis says, hopefully it might be just cosmetic and won't require too much expense to sort.

Good idea about the cemented anchor points, would really save a lot of time, money and hassle. I am sure they are going to do something to stop this repeating because if history is anything to go buy we had a foot of snow in February last year so they ought to do something pretty quick if possible.

Not blaming anyone for this happening so please don't take it that way, but lessons will be learned and I'm sure that until they have an achor point made or whatever they are going to do they will have a snow patrol (not the band) ready to keep her safe.

Iwas five minutes away from NEAM on saturday, with all intentions of going to look at the new car, buying it then going to the museum whilst they got it ready. and the !£$%& northerners made it look all nice on autotrader and it was a shed when we got there, so spent all day driving round to find a new car.

I already live Ooop north (but not as far north as that where they talk funny) i think the bloke selling the car was a scot in disguise I nearly called him a time wasting geordie (he's from sunderland) but thought better of it!

us Yorkshire folk are tight with our money so won't buy no rubbish from northern conmen {whisper mode on} plus it is the wifes car and i didn't want to get shouted at {whisper mode off}

As Jim (HH) has already said.. static displays need anchorage, not only for wind factor - but as seen with 319, weight of lying snow can upset COG and tip them arse up.

Does anyone know if 607 at Waddo is anchored at nose wheel ? (I guess she is... )

Not sure that trick has actually been done, 319 was definitely arse down.

603 is a bit arse up because the nose leg spring has collapsed, does that count?

Its nice to see the old girl back on all her legs, any idea when they plan to start building a hanger for her, and will they build around her, as i assume that she cannot be moved..............

607 nose is on a plinth, not sure how they attached the anchor points to her undercarriage but you can see none of her wheels touch the ground.
