Juast spotted this in your first post MF - I absolutely love it - apparently folks he's using a poxy resin All epoxy resins smell poxy so you're nearly there I suppose

As to the Mossie rebuild I am gobsmacked at the quality these rebuild guys get nowadays - what an achievement - and I am really envious that you got to see it so up close - must have been brilliant.

A Mossie in the sky again - can't wait .....

Sorry D4th they are going to use RR engines - they said Packards are too scarce - so if you know of any I'm sure they will be interested.

I think there are still two major stashes of
Packard Merlins, one in Canada and the other
in Nevada or California. Both are closely guarded
by their owners and meted-out, mostly for P-51s
and Racers.....

The ones for Mosquitos were unique, I believe,
and counter-rotated, so a different engine on
each wing.

No the engines didn't counter-rotate. Thats why there were a lot of take off accidents because of the swing if not handled correctly ie: throttles were opened with one throttle leading a bit more than the other until the tail came up.
I'm lucky enough to live here but not close to Av-Specs otherwise I'd be there every day!

The one that crashed belonged to BAe - There were plans to give it to BBMF at the end of the '96 season - DT joined BBMF for '97 season so he would have been one of those to fly her....we did get to look around her 2 months before the dreadful day -
