So the UN has backed a no fly zone over Libya then - will be interesting to see what part we play!!

It is NOT our fight, he hasn't crossed any borders!

It is and will always be our fight. Our armed forces haven't been used solely to defend Britain since The Armada. Of course defending Britain is part of it, but we fought France to protect our foreign commercial interests, and in the 1800s to further our Empire for commercial interests (Pax Britannicum). The 1st WW was again to protect our foreign interests and to maintain Belgian neutrality to act as a buffer against the Germans. The 2nd WW again was to stop Fascism taking root in this country. We didn't do anything to just protect Britain - even if the RAF had lost the "Battle of Britain", the Nazis wouldn't have invaded; quite simply because they didn't have the sea power. The Korean War, The Cold War - these were wars of ideology and politics that we took part in to protect what we thought to be right. I imagine that no-one thinks we are capable of policing the World, but when you are a member of the UN or NATO and you subscribe to a course of action that you think is right, then you have to do it whether you like it or not.
I'm sure the Military and the people on the front line will want to do it - after all, that is what they train for; and quite frankly, what they get paid to do. If Libya didn't have oil, I'm sure it would be a different matter.

Here we go again, another day another conflict and William Hague has got his wish it seems, pity they could not have foreseen this coming and scaled the military cut backs accordingly, UK armed forces stretched to the limits once again and all for the sake of the Libyan oil I dare say. Will be interesting to see what role we can play in this campaign.

Libyan oil production only amounts to about 2% of the total amount!

I think this is a classic case of things not being as simple or as easy as some think. Whilst I understand the sentiment of 'It's none of our business' we are going to be involved for the reasons stated by RLN, but I would would like to see the Arab nations take the lead.

a Certain Level of military capability and
readiness.

The other night look north showed some random stock video of a VC-10 with the caption AWACS from RAF Waddington, that made me chuckle
