Saw her on Thursday when I was out on the mountain bike west of Hitchin. Looked as though she was heading south following the M1 before swinging east, skirting Luton's airspace.

My first encounter with the Goodyear airship was as a child in the early '80s. It flew over our house on it's way to Leicester Airport / Stoughton Aerodrome, where it was based for the duration of The Pope's visit to the UK. To a child's mind, it seemed to be around for ages, but it was probably only a week or so. You could go the the airfield to view it, and they even had a souvenir stall, in fact we had an inflatable airship hanging from the bedroom ceiling for a while!

A few years back, I got home to find the airship floating around above my house, seemingly with the engines not running. Quite a eerie sight! Then after a while, the engines fired up and off it went.
Grumpy old man in training!
